Talitha Amanda Newton Master's-Qualified Couples Specialist & Psychotherapist

Some relationships exist largely out of public view — not because there is anything to hide, but because the lives you lead demand it. High-profile careers, expatriate communities, remote postings, close-knit social circles where discretion is not a preference but a necessity. When your relationship needs support, finding someone who truly understands that world matters enormously.

I do.

I grew up in expatriate communities across Borneo and Singapore — environments where privacy was not incidental but foundational to daily life. Where everyone knew everyone, where professional reputation and personal life were always in proximity, and where reaching out for help required both courage and trust that it would be handled with absolute care. That upbringing shaped not just who I am, but how I practise.

Who I work with

I offer specialist remote couples counselling to partners navigating relationship challenges who require genuine confidentiality, deep professional expertise, and a therapist who understands the particular pressures of high-profile, high-demand, or geographically complex lives. My clients include couples in senior professional roles, those living and working remotely or internationally, and partners within tight-knit communities where seeking help locally simply isn't an option.

All sessions are conducted via secure telehealth — no waiting rooms, no local referrals, no visibility.

My approach

With over 15 years of clinical experience and a Master of Counselling (Couples) from Swinburne University, I bring both rigorous training and a deeply human understanding of what it means when a relationship is under strain.

My work is grounded in evidence-based modalities — Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy — integrated with trauma-informed and somatic approaches. I tailor every engagement to the specific dynamics, history, and goals of each couple, rather than applying a generic framework.

I am a registered Level 3 Member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

Why remote counselling works

The most meaningful therapeutic work doesn't require you to be in the same room. What it requires is safety, trust, and genuine clinical skill. Remote sessions offer something that in-person counselling often cannot — the ability to engage from wherever you are in the world, in your own space, on your terms, without compromise to your privacy or your schedule.

For couples whose lives don't fit a standard mould, this is not a lesser option. It is often the better one.

"The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives."
